Kick and Knee Defenses (Both Opponents Standing Yellow-Green Belts)

Your regular outlet stance allows you to defend a myriad of attacks without compromising your ability to defend other parts of your body should they be attacked simultaneously. These defenses are designed to counter straight kicks launched against you. Optimally, use your front leg to parry the kick, but, occasionally, a hand defense is necessary. Remember that lowering your hands to defend against a kick can expose you to upper-body strikes, particularly straight punches, so be careful when defending kicks with your arms.
